Musexpo 2009

I had the great opportunity to shoot the Musexpo 2009 for Redefine Magazine. Musexpo is one of the biggest music industry conferences in the world, which involves top executives from every level and sector of the music business, as well as artists, songwriters, agents, managers, festival organisers and everything else music-related. The Viper Room and the Whisky a Go Go were the two venues where the different bands performed. The crowd went back and forth between the two clubs to see their favorite bands on stage. Highlights from the night included performances by Purple Melon, Big Elf, Black Room and Our Lunar Activities. I got to shoot the bands after their sets and met some extremely talented muscians!

Coachella 2009

Ahhh...Coachella. What an amazing music festival! I shot Coachella for Redefine Magazine. Matthieu Duquette, a talented writer and good friend of mine, is collaborating on the story with me. My friends and I all drove down to Indio, CA together to partake in the three day event and exciting festivities. The first night we arrived late, but were able to catch the entire set of Paul McCartney. I am so glad I can say I saw him perform in my lifetime, it was almost like watching the Beatles! That night we met a guy who needed to borrow my cell phone b/c his ride left him behind. We gave him a ride to his house about 10 minutes away and he ended up letting us camp out in his yard the next two nights. My friend got me free VIP passes on Saturday and then I got a backstage pass on Sunday! I got to hang and photograph MIA, Devendra Banhart, The Horrors, The Kills and many more. The Cure performed a 3 hour set and literally had their sound cut off by Coachella b/c of curfew. Overall it was an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back next year! Big thanks to Alex, Vivian, Guy, Carmen, Tommy & all the people who helped make this trip possible.

Milk

Thursday night's boutique opening party for ChloƩ was held at Milk Studios in Hollywood. The star studded event's celebrity guests included Kate Bosworth, Chloe Sevigny & Maria Sharapova amongst many others. The stylish venue and posh crowd had a very NYC vibe. After a special performance by Janelle Monae, Perry Farrell, from Jane's Addiction, and Crystal Castles performed. The crowd was jammin to the sounds of Perry Farrell who DJ'd and then sang a few songs. The lead singer of Crystal Castles hit the stage around midnight lit only by a hand held strobe light and belted out some sweet vocals.

Brea Cola

I had the amazing opportunity to shoot this young Hollywood starlet in Los Feliz. Her star is definitely on the rise...you can see her on TV shows like Life, Lie To Me, Days of Our Lives and the newest Army commercials. I've been a huge fan since the first day I laid eyes on her. Check her out at www.breacola.com
