Interview Magazine
I just recently was asked to take some portraits of the talented singer, Elizaveta Khripounova, for the new issue of Interview Magazine Russia. Interview Magazine is one of my favorite mags...so I was definitely excited to work with them. Here are a few of the published shots and a few outtakes.

Garage Art Show #4
Last Friday night was the 4th installment of our Garage Art Show. My friends and I host a group art show a few times throughout the year. This was the best one yet! The Mime was a bigger location with better parking and loads of space to show our work. We had a bar and awesome music by DJ Chuck Wild. The band Batwings Catwings also performed an amazing set to a packed house. Overall it was an awesome night! Check out all the photos here!

CameraBag
Wow! The Downtown Art Walk LA was amazing on Thursday. LoftSEVEN, the gallery that exhibited my new series, "Perspectives," was packed to the brim for the group show "Indian Summer." LoftSEVEN is such an awesome venue and the penthouse and rooftop views of downtown LA are incredible! We had a line of people downstairs just waiting to get in the elevator. Thanks so much to my sponsor, CameraBag, for their help in making this show possible. I literally couldn't have done it without them! All the images I displayed were taken on my iPhone and processed with CameraBag. These guys really do have the best camera app for the iPhone and I am so grateful for their support! The 8 prints I exhibited were 30x30 inch gallery canvas wraps. I also showed 8 new pieces that are 20x20 inches. They have four images on each piece which are then mounted on a 4 panel custom metal frame. All images can be found on my website in the "Perspectives" gallery! Also check out my Flickr, as well as the awesome party photos on the Ink Blotch website, to see the whole show !

Resource Magazine
I had the pleasure of shooting the cover photo for Resource Magazine's newest Summer issue! We went to Las Vegas to shoot their "The Productions of World" feature story. Vegas was amazing and exploring the different parts of the city was something I'd never done before. Thanks to the Nevada Film Commission we were able to photograph the Hoover Dam, the Red Rocks, the Strip, ghost towns and all places in between. I also covered MOPLA, Month of Photography LA, for them. The magazine looks great and I am so happy to be a part of such an awesome "Resource" for the professional photo productionist...now go get a copy and spread the word!

iPhone Photo Exhibition

Last night I had my first solo art show in LA featuring my new iPhone photo series, "Perspectives." The turn out was amazing. I met some great people, saw some wonderful art at the neighboring galleries and really had an awesome time. I was so busy this whole week editing, preparing all the prints and trying to figure out how to hang the show. I feel like today is the first day I can actually relax a bit. I finally settled on hanging unframed prints on the wall for a photographic installation of my iPhone images. I ended up hanging them with small magnets and washers. This way the prints aren't damaged by clips or adhesives. I was very happy with the final results and now have a cool new hanging system that I will use for future installations. So many of my friends come out and support me. I am so thankful to everyone who came out to my show and also to those that sent their wishes from afar!
Also, I have received some great press write ups lately from two of LA's top photography and art blogs as well as one of the best indie music and art mags on the scene: We Can Shoot Too , PIX FEED and Redefine Mag so check them out!
I have posted some photos for those of you that couldn't make it out to the event. You can also go to my Flickr page to view the whole exhibit from start to finish! It's an exciting time for me right now and I am definitely thankful for all the blessings!

Perspectives

"Perspectives" is an exploration into the idea that a photograph of the finest quality transcends the bounds of manipulation. Instead, one must depend on the heart and soul that lives within the composition itself. That is the true inquest the observer must face.
EVENT:
What: Koury Angelo's 1st Solo Photo Show in Cali!
When: Saturday, May 16th 7-10PM
Where: The Santiago Art District: Loft 910 Gallery on 910 East Civic Center Dr. (Santa Ana Blvd. just off the 5 frwy)
This photographic installation consists only of images I've taken using the iPhone as my camera. This new found freedom to explore and create has led me to wonderful discoveries within the medium. "Perspectives" is my first solo exhibition in Los Angeles.

Santiago Art District
Every third Saturday of the month, residents of the Santiago Street Lofts host the Santiago Art District--A community art walk event. Their website is www.santiagoartdistrict.com. Galleries open at 7PM and usually run until 10PM--and sometimes even later! I will be showing my photography in one of the galleries. Thanks to Ryan and Nate for inviting me to have my first solo show in Cali! Ample (free) parking is conveniently located across the street at the Santa Ana Train Depot on the southeast corner of Santa Ana Boulevard and Santiago Street...also, word on the street is that the Kogi truck will be making a cameo appearance as well, which I hear is kind of a big deal. You can follow them on Twitter @kogibbq or their website www.kogibbq.com! See ya there!
